Hi, I’m Yasitha
I’m Yasitha, a wedding photographer, but I’m also an advocate for passionate love, the kind that is grounded, yet filled with mad adoration. I chose to align my pursuit of photography with weddings because of couples like you. You inspire and impress me.
The honor of telling your story will likely make me feel like I’m on a worldwide excursion, whether photographing your wedding in a stylish DC hotel. I would be overjoyed and flattered to not only photograph your wedding, but to be your confidant, your assistant and your friend too.
MY APPROACH
I use unposed, authentic love, rather than staged perfection.
Your wedding photos should be filled with the same kind of stirring emotions you experience as you look at each other for the first time as husband and wife. I use unposed moments and organic movement with guidance to create images you’ll love. Keep in mind that your engagement session will guide you into this laid-back photography experience as you learn to relax and be at ease in front of the camera.

For the last 10 years, it has been a sweet privilege to watch couples laugh and truly enjoy these long-awaited and dreamed-about moments. I’ll take time to carefully learn about you and what makes your relationship unique. And of course, on your wedding day, I’ll capture the many details and portraits you’re going to love, all while keeping things on schedule.
I’ll be there every step of the way — whether it’s helping the groom straighten his tie, holding a bouquet, fixing a veil or capturing you sneaking an emotional hug in with your dad before walking down the aisle. I love what I do, and I can’t imagine doing photography without couples like you!

FEATURED IN THE PRESS
I was the kindergartner who tediously colored, always being careful to stay in between the lines. It was very apparent even from a young age that art was a passion and strength of mine. As I grew older, I dabbled in painting and design, and then started photography in high school. After graduating, I landed an internship (which then led to a job) with studio imaging, image editing and event coverage. Several years later, I photographed a friend’s wedding and I was inspired to pursue this path. It’s been 10 years since then and I have to pinch myself that this is my job! I am so, so grateful.
