FAQ
QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
FAQ’s
To be fair to all potential couples, I can pencil you in for 48 hours, but I cannot hold your date without a signed contract. To reserve your wedding date, you will need to complete the contract in your client portal, and the non-refundable retainer. Once that has been done, you’re officially set and will receive additional details with scheduling your engagement session, and wedding plans as they unfold. I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Yes, I am. Most venues require liability insurance, and I can provide a certificate of proof if your venue requests.
Although I hope that this never, ever happens, I have a large network of trusted photographers that are on backup should any major catastrophe arise. These vendors have the same elegant and authentic style, and editing would still be handled by me.
You will receive your online gallery link within 8 weeks of your wedding date (2 weeks for engagement sessions). Your edited, high-resolution images will be available to download, share or easily order prints through a professional lab directly from your gallery.
A. Engagement sessions are only scheduled on weekdays, typically for sunrise or sunset. Weekdays offer more options in locations to keep an intimate feel and relaxing experience for you both–giving us the chance to not feel rushed, or having to dodge crowds with iconic DC locations. Weekends are either booked with a wedding or event, or blocked off for family time–since an open Saturday is a rare commodity. Thank you for understanding.
When we’re booking your original session date, I will often set aside a backup plan or date in case the weather decides to become questionable on the original date. We will be in touch via email to reschedule to the backup date if needed.
Something that makes you feel confident and beautiful! You’ll receive a special style guide with some of my favorite outfit styles (and where to buy them!) that photograph really, really well. If you decide to wear heels, Don’t forget to bring an extra pair of shoes for walking in between locations.
Absolutely. You can approach your engagement session with confidence because I will help coach you with posing–so no need to worry! It’s actually normal to feel awkward in front of the camera (myself included!), so we will take a natural approach during your session to make you feel comfortable and bring out your individual personalities. I like action, laughter, and the moments in between which really show off who you are as a couple. These are my favorite, since it’s a chance for us to relax and laugh together, and get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day.
Yes, I absolutely love to travel! Whether your wedding is near or far, I’ll have you covered. Travel fees will be minimal, and only cover actual expenses of flight, lodging, and a few meals. It’s an adventure for me too, so I’m all in.
As things like this are completely unprecedented, please note that the retainer fee is still non-refundable, but we will work together as quickly as possible to find a solution that is amicable for both.
